What We’re Looking For

We evaluate our current and prospective suppliers using multiple different factors including but not limited to quality systems, regulatory compliance, reliability, and transparency. Our suppliers are typically characterized by the following:

  • Compliance with 21 CFR 111, et seq.
  • Consistency from batch-to-batch
  • Traceability (COAs, lot/batch records, chain-of-custody where applicable)
  • Testing (identity, purity, potency, contaminants)
  • Documented responsible and ethical sourcing

    • Our supplier qualification criteria varies by category (e.g., active dietary ingredient suppliers have different qualification criteria compared to our packaging component suppliers).

    If available, please include documents supporting the following in your application:

  • GMP Certifications
  • Non-GMP quality management system certifications
  • Recent audit reports
  • Sample certificates of analysis, specifications, and/or test methodologies
  • Product catalogs
  • Scientific literature
  • Insurance certificates
  • Licensing agreements

    Standards for
    Suppliers

    Our suppliers must meet or exceed FDA CGMP requirements set forth in the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. §§ 101, et seq.), U.S. FDA regulations codified in 21 C.F.R. §§ 111, et seq., and applicable state laws and regulations. We prefer suppliers who are GMP certified by an independent body and have mature quality management systems.
